Heffernan, Ronishi Perform Program At Mozart Club

The Mozart Club met at the Sheldon House, Aug. 7 to enjoy an afternoon tea and a recital by Chautauqua student and violinist John Heffernan and piano accompanist Akiko Ronishi. Heffernan is from Los Angeles and is a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music where he studied with Wm. Preucil, concertmaster of the Cleveland Orchestra. He has also studied at the Paris Conservatoire. This next year he will be in Evanston, Ill., with teacher Armita Vamos. He aspires to be concertmaster of the Chicago Symphony some day. Eleanor Thorsell welcomed the members, and Elaine Smathers introduced the program. Linda Carlson introduced new members, Marie Beckstrom, Zoe Fellows and Gail Taylor.
