RANDOLPH, N.Y. - Chester B. Wares Jr., 75, of Hall Street. East Randolph, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, in the UPMC Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pa.
He was born Nov. 13, 1937, in Stillwater, N.Y., the son of the late Charles B. and Ulricka Lohnes Wares Sr.
Mr. Wares was a 1955 graduate of Little Valley Central School and attended Cortland State Universi-ty. He was employed by Kohl's Department Store in Olean, and in earlier years, he had been a licensed certified electrician, truck driver, employee of Anderson Screw Products in Jamestown, and the Falconer Plant of MRC-TRW. He had also pastored the Abundant Life Church of God in Jamestown, for 10 years. He currently attended the Faith Light House Chapel in East Randolph. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards and board games on Fridays nights in their home.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Elizabeth A. Mott, whom he married on Jan. 26, 1957: two sons: Chester B. Wares III and wife, Shelly of Aurora, Colo., and Bradley A. Wares and wife, Jan of McKinney, Texas; two daughters: Leesa L. Bousum of Steamburg, and Lucinda L. Wares of Boca Ratan, Fla.: 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Lawrence Wares and wife, Nancy of Napoli, and Donald Wares and wife, Corina of Dayton, Ohio; and three sisters: Wanda DeAngelo and husband, Ralph of Jamestown, Marla Edson and husband, Paul of Sinclairville, and Lorna Wilson and husband Doug, of Sumpter, S.C.
The family will receive family and friends from 4-7 p.m. Sunday in the Van-Rensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church St., Randolph, from where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m Monday (Sept. 2, 2103).
