LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT
Tess M. Diamond, 20, was charged at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday with fourth-degree grand larceny following an investigation at Old Navy in the Chautauqua Mall. Police alleged that Diamond stole merchandise and made fraudulent returns in the amount of $1,720. She was issued an appearance ticket to be in Busti Court at a later date.
Daniel W. Weaver, 55, of Mayville was charged at 11 a.m. on Wednesday with petit larceny. Weaver was observed taking lawn mower belts from a store without paying. A warrant was issued and served.
ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT
Heather A. Yahn, 37, of Frewsburg was charged with harassment following an investigation July 31 into an alleged harassment of a resident at a group home in Ellicott. Yahn was taken into custody and issued an appearance ticket to be in Ellicott Court at a later date.
Ashley R. Spencer, 18, of Falconer Street, Jamestown, and a 16-year-old were charged on Monday with unlawful possession of marijuana. Police conducted a traffic stop on West Falconer Street at 2 a.m. and found both subjects allegedly to be in possession of marijuana. Both were scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE
ELLICOTT - Michael A. Krontz, 57, of White Pigeon, Mich., was charged at 9:20 p.m. on Saturday with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation following a traffic stop. It was reported by another motorist that Krontz's vehicle was allegedly driving erratically. It was later found that his driving privileges were suspended. He was issued a traffic ticket to appear in Ellicott Court at a later date.
ARKWRIGHT - Steven Riley, 45, of Route 83, Forestville, was charged with petit larceny, fourth-degree criminal mischief, resisting arrest, second-degree obstructing governmental administration, second-degree harassment and unlawful possession of marijuana Tuesday. Deputies responded to a report of a larceny at 7:24 p.m. After an investigation, Riley was taken into custody and in the process he allegedly fought with deputies. While in custody, Riley continued being disorderly and spit on a deputy. He was arraigned and committed to Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail.
JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
Jamestown police on Monday in conjunction with New York State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit conducted a safety checkpoint. Patrols directed trucks to the checkpoint for a safety inspection. There were 33 trucks inspected and 14 traffic tickets issued to drivers.
CATTARAUGUS COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE
DELEVAN - Paul S. Mitchell, 49, of Stevens Drive, was charged at 9 p.m. on Monday with second-degree harassment and second-degree criminal contempt following a domestic incident. He was arraigned in Yorkshire Court and transported to jail on $2,000 bail.
ALLEGANY - Bret M. Heath, 21, of Stowe Street, Jamestown was charged at 11:52 p.m. on Monday with fourth-degree criminal mischief for allegedly breaking a wooden fence behind 45 W. Main St. after trying to jump over it several times. He was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Allegany Court at a later date.
