BLOCKVILLE - The Harmony Historical Society will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday for a dinner meeting.
There will be a program following dinner.
Norman P. Carlson will share the results of his research on the 1894 Shearman-Davis double murder that occurred in Busti.
Dinner will be tureen style.
Anyone interested in attending is asked to bring a dish to pass and their own table service. Coffee and a cold beverage will be provided.
The July dinner meeting featured, a program entitled "St. Mary's Cemetery Restoration Project" given by Dr. Gary Olson. He talked about the work he and other volunteers are doing to restore an abandoned cemetery near Frewsburg.
The society meets the first Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. for a business meeting and on the third Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. for a dinner meeting. Programs follow at 7 p.m. The society is seeking demonstrators and vendors to come to its fall festival and is asking members to send in favorite recipes so they can be included in the new cookbook.
Quilt giveaway tickets are now available for sale at a cost of $2 each or three for $5.
The name of the 2013 Fall Festival Quilt is "Autumn Memories."
