Shirley Ann Hart (Miller) of 19 W. Chadakoin St., Celoron, passed away Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013, in WCA Hospital, surrounded by her daughters after a lengthy battle with COPD.
She was born April 21, 1936, in Oil City, Pa., to Charles and Anna Miller. She attended Oil City High School, and then relocated to Jamestown, N.Y.
In her early years, she worked at AVM, then attended Jamestown Community College and pursued a career in nursing, until becoming disabled.
Shirley will be remembered as a very loving, strong and giving woman. She was an avid reader, loved to crochet and do ceramics. She was a dog lover and enjoyed playing with her dog, Mitzi.
She is survived by three daughters: Anna Jones (Keith) of West Ellicott, Valerie Swan of Jamestown, and Pamela Hart of Franklinton, N.C.; two sons: Charles Goodman of Ramseur, N.C., and Jim Goodman of Franklinton, N.C.; 11 grandchildren: Paul Evanczik Jr. and Christopher Swan of Jamestown, Kolnae, Ciara, and Korrin Jones of West Ellicott, Kayla Hines of North Carolina, Amy, Marcy, and Miranda Goodman of Florida, and Jesse and Jessica Goodman of North Carolina; and three great-grandchildren: Paul Evanczik of James-town, and Marissa and Andrew Hines of North Carolina. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Cody Knisley.
There will be a celebration of her life on Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013, at The Celoron Community Center from 1-3 p.m.
