The rosters for the 2013 New York-Penn League All-Star Game have been announced and several of the Jamestown Jammers have been selected to represent the National League squad when they battle the American League.
Catcher Jin-De Jhang, shortstop Adam Frazier, third baseman Erich Weiss and outfielder Harold Ramirez will represent the Jammers as starters. Outfielder Jeff Roy, designated hitter Michael Fransoso and pitcher Roberto Espinosa were voted to represent the NL as reserves.
Jhang is hitting .277 with three home runs, six doubles, 31 hits and 21 RBIs.
Frazier leads the NY-P League with a .357 batting average and a .451 on-base percentage.
Weiss is currently second on the team in hitting (.351) and triples (2) .
Ramirez has manned all three outfield spots for the Jammers at some point this season. He currently leads all position players in hits (56), and RBIs (34) and is fifth with a .322 batting average.
Roy is batting .303 with 46 hits in 152 at-bats. He has 19 RBIs to go along with three doubles and a league-leading 20 stolen bases.
Fransoso is batting .281 with one home run and 20 RBIs. He is third on the team in doubles (7) and has drawn a team-best 28 walks.
Espinosa holds the lowest ERA of any pitcher in the bullpen (0.77) and is also a perfect 4-for-4 in saves this season. In 11innings of work Espinosa has allowed just one earned run on eight base hits. He is holding opposing batters to a .195 batting average and has struck out 14 batters.
The NY-P League All-Star Game will be held on Aug. 13 in Norwich, Conn. at Dodd Stadium, home to the Connecticut Tigers.
