Irvine Chandler, 92, of 207 South Tenth Ave. Burwell, Neb., formerly of Forest Street in Sugar Grove, Pa., passed away Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013, at the home of his daughter, Elizabeth Wedekind, with home he made his home.
Irvine was born in Roulette, Pa., on April 20, 1921, a son of the late Margie and Fred Chandler.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Force in World War II where he served in the European Theatre.
Irvine was a member of the Evangelical Wesleyan Church in Warren, and was retired from his employment at Marlin Rockwell in Jamestown, N.Y. He was also a self-employed farm-er for many years.
Irvine was the widower of Cecile (Arnold) Chandler, who preceded him in death on Sept. 7, 2005.
Surviving are a daughter, Sharron (Bernie) Switzer of Warren; a son Ronald (Diane) Chandler, of Golden Valley, Ariz.; a daughter Elizabeth (Mark) Wedekind, of Burwell, Neb.. and a daughter, Nancy Magee of Warren, Pa.; 11 grandchildren: Rose, Becky, Ronald Jr., Rachel, Michelle, Amber, Katharyn, Travis, Charity, Ashley, and Faith; and 19 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother; two sisters; and a granddaughter, Crystal.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. at McKinney Funeral Homes in Sugar Grove, where a funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, Aug. 7. with the Rev. William Sarber of Cooperstown, Pa., officiat-ing. A graveside service will follow in Lottsville Cemetery.
