Hospice Chautauqua County, one of The United Way of Northern Chautauqua County's Community Partners, has benefited from The Evans Team weeding The Abbe Mattison Hospice Memorial Garden.
The team consisted of Ruthann Rocque, the volunteer coordinator, Megan Whitney, Jennifer Serio, Marissa Metzger, Karen Peterson and Jeff Campese. This has all been part of the Community Caring Week event to benefit all of The United Way's Community Partners.
It is an opportunity for area businesses to participate hands-on and understand the importance of volunteers and donations to agency programs.

Hospice Chautauqua County relies on programs such as these in order to keep up with large projects that are geared toward the community, such as the garden.
"It is a large undertaking and even though we have a few garden clubs and other volunteer organizations that help throughout the year, it's an ongoing project that needs a lot of attention," said Megan D'Angelo, director of community relations.
Rocque has been involved with many volunteer organizations throughout the years, and when asked to head one up at The Evans Agency, she jumped at the opportunity.
"I started out with The Girl Scouts, volunteering and I haven't stopped," said RuthAnn.
She is very committed to her work and community and it shows with her dedication and support for different organizations. Being involved with The United Way Northern Chautauqua County was just one more way to give back.
Everyone worked hard all day, and Peterson even asked for support from Zach Huber at the Home Depot, who graciously donated two plants to their efforts.
