The Sinclairville 76ers is the Meals on Wheels program for the Cassadaga Valley area.
The program began in 1976 with senior housing and was so named the 76ers. Five years later, the Meals on Wheels program began. Meals are delivered three days a week in vans by volunteers on three different routes to Cherry Creek, Conewango Valley, Ellington, Cassadaga, Stockton, Gerry and Sinclairville.
Richard Smith is the Meals on Wheels program president. The same meal is served at noon at the luncheon site located in the dining room of the Sinclairville Firehall. Lisa Rangel is the head cook, and prepares meals on site to be delivered. Elsie Livermore is the site manager, and Patti France is the social worker for the program.
Shown cutting the cake are Patti France, who also celebrated her birthday, and volunteer driver Jack Rudy.
Recently at the luncheon site, Mrs. France brought a large birthday cake to honor those who were having birthdays in July and August.
All those having a recent birthday were recognized at the luncheon. For more information on the Sinclairville 76ers Meals on Wheels program, call 962-3455.
