Marshall D. Munson, 80, of Jamestown, passed away Thursday (July 25, 2013), in Hamot Medical Center, Erie, Pa.
A lifelong area resident, he was born July 8, 1933, in Jamestown, the son of the late Rudolph and Amy Larson Munson.
Marshall was a graduate of Jamestown High School and was a veteran in the U.S. Army serving from 1953 to 1955.

In earlier years, he was employed by Crescent Tool for 34 years, Blackstone Corporation, Carborundum and prior to retirement was employed by Quality Markets for 15 years.
He was a life member of the John W. Tiffany VFW Post 53, a member of the Samuel Derby Post 557, American Legion, and International Association of Machinists. Marshall was a faithful Red Sox fan, Buffalo Bills fan and enjoyed playing bingo.
Surviving are his wife, DeMaris Wheeler Munson, whom he married March 17, 1956, in First Lutheran Church, Jamestown; a daughter, Julie (James) Ditonto of Kennedy; and a son, Daniel Munson of Jamestown.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Wallace Munson.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the Falconer Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald E. Ray will officiate. Burial will be in Myrtle Cemetery, Clarks Corners, N.Y.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service Monday in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be donated to the Chautauqua County Humane Society.
