James L. "Smitty" Smith, 61, of Apache Ave., Corry, Pa., died at his home on Saturday, July 13, 2013.
He was born Sept. 1, 1951, in Greensburg, Pa., a son of the late Charles H. and Trieva M. Rahr Smith.
Smitty was raised and educated in Hershey, Pa., and graduated from Milton Hershey High School in 1969. He moved to Wattsburg, Pa., in 1976. He worked various jobs before joining the Laborers Local 603. He was a laborer with Local 603 for 41 years, retiring in 2001. Smitty had moved to Corry in 2005.
He was an NRA member since 1976, and he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents, Smitty was preceded in death by a daughter, Shannon Lee Smith; and two brothers: Leonard L. And Gerald L. Smith.
Smitty is survived by his wife, LouAnn B. Seekings Smith, whom he married on Nov. 6, 1971, in Jamestown, N.Y.; and two sisters: Marie Maze of Ohio, and Pauline Foley of Maple Grove, Minn. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation or services held.
Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Kane, Pa.
