Manley E. Carlstrom Jr., 81, of 7470 Route 957 Sugar Grove, Pa., passed away at 12:45 p.m., Thursday, July 11, 2013, at Warren General Hospital.
Manley was born in Akeley, Pa., on March 21, 1932, a son of the late Olga and Manley E. Carlstrom, Sr. He was retired from the National Forge Company in Irvine, where he was a crankshaft polisher, retireing in 1995. He was also employed at Decker Transportation in Lander for many years.
The most important thing in his life was his family, and he always made spending time with them a priority. He loved to golf and bowl. He had formerly been a member of the National Forge golf league and bowling league. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and gardening.

Surviving are a daughter, Cheri (Gary) Finlan of Titusville; a brother, Arthur Carlstrom of Greenville, S.C.; five grandchildren: Nicholas (Naka) King, Christopher (Lindsey) Finlan, Jayna Finlan, Joseph Finlan and George Finlan; one great-granddaughter, Rylan King; and also several nieces, nephews, cousins and his lab/husky mix and his best friend, Keila.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
Friends will be received on Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. at the Sugar Grove Branch of McKinney Funeral Homes and Cremation Services Inc. where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 16, 2013. Graveside services will follow and will be in Wesleyan Cemetery, Sugar Grove.
