Laurel Hotelling, front, poses with a number of Kwik Fill representatives to promote the ongoing Laurel Run sneaker sale promotion. Pictured, from left, are: Becky DiTonto, district manager; Katie Rodriguez, manager of the Kwik Fill on Route 60 outside Jamestown; Caleb Burlingame, manager of the Kwik Fill on Fairmount Avenue in West Ellicott; Kristie Larusch, manager of the Kwik Fill on Third Street in Jamestown; and Frank Bartela, regional manager for United Refining Company. Through July 21, participating Kwik Fill/Red Apple Food Mart locations in Chautauqua and Erie counties in New York, and in Warren County, Pa., are selling the paper sneakers for $1; customers can buy a sneaker, write their name on it and have the sneaker mounted on the store's wall or window as a show of support for people with disabilities. Proceeds from the sneaker sales will benefit organizations that support people with disabilities. The 17th annual Laurel Run, a fundraising event created in Hotelling's honor, takes place July 19 and 20. For information, phone 483-2344 or visit www.laurel-run.com.
