Allen G. Haley, 88, of 580 Front St., died Tuesday (July 10, 2013), at WCA Hospital.
He was born Nov. 30, 1924, in Ivory, the son of Ernest and Irene Smith Haley.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1943 to 1945.

Allen attended the Kiantone Congregational Church, was a 55-year member of the Samuel Derby Post 556 American Legion, Frewsburg, where he had been on the board of directors for 15 years., sergeant-at-arms for 10 years, first, second, and third vice commander, commander for two terms, was Legionnaire of the Year in 2005, and was on the firing squad. He also was a member of the Carroll and Kiantone senior citizens, Carroll Historical Society, YMCA for 12 years, past president of the Jamestown Bowling Association and Pals for Preemies, where he was on the board for five years.He enjoyed fishing, hunting and trapping.
Allen is survived by his wife of 66 years, Delores Carlson Haley: four chil-dren: Allen Haley of Fentonville, Randy (Carol) Haley of Clarendon, Brenda (James) Roberts of Russell, and Laurie Haley of Leesburg, Fla.; 10 grandchildren: Jeff, Jeremy, Nathan, and Michael Haley, Sheila Turner, Michelle Brown, Brandi Ekey, Josh Roberts, Michele Rockwell, and Tyler Abbott; 18 great-grandchildren; a brother, Frederick Haley of Jamestown; and a sister, Emma Prine of Clymer.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers: Clyde, Robert and Chester Haley; and a sister, Ethel Spencer.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg. The Rev. Mel McGinnis, pastor of the Kiantone Congregational Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Fentonville Cemetery, Frewsburg.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
