An early Sunday shooting and stabbing on East Second Street sent two to the emergency room with non-life-threatening injuries, Jamestown police said Monday.
According to Capt. Robert Samuelson of the Jamestown Police Department, the incident occurred at 5:15 a.m. at 517 E. Second St. where a party was taking place. The victims, one of whom was shot in the shoulder and the other stabbed multiple times in the arm and torso, were transported to WCA Hospital by private vehicles.
Police at the hospital on an unrelated incident were made aware of the shooting and stabbing; the East Second Street crime scene was later identified by investigators.
Names of the victims were not released.
Samuelson said investigators were still processing information Monday. A motive for the assault was not known, he said.
"This was not a random act of violence. We do know that right now," Samuelson told The Post-Journal. "This occurred inside the residence, and multiple shots were fired.
"We are asking anyone who may have been there to contact us."
