John Felton, Southern Chautauqua Federal Credit Union chief executive officer, has been inducted into the New York Credit Union Hall of Fame.
He was honored with a 2013 Recognition Award from the Credit Union Association of New York at its annual meeting and convention at the Sagamore Resort.
Felton has grown Southern Chautauqua FCU from 500 members and $100,000 in assets to more than 10,000 members and nearly $60 million in assets. Callahan and Associates recognized it as the fastest growing credit union in New York state during 2011 and 2012.

In addition, Felton has developed several new products and services to help improve the lives of members. He created the Kid's Credit Union Program to help local students save more than $10,000 before graduation. He has also built several community relationships to bring financial services to those in need and is very active with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program.
