Cynthia Sue Chapman McCandless, 54, of Daytona Beach, Fla., formerly of Kennedy, N.Y., passed away unexpectedly, June 13, 2013, at the Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center, following a brief illness.
She was born April 7, 1959, in Jamestown, the daughter of Lois Butts Chapman and the late Alfred Chapman.
Cindy was a 1977 graduate of Falconer High School. She lived in Daytona for 36 years, where she met and married the love of her life, Charles ''Chip'' McCandless III, June 21, 1980.
Cindy loved bowling and bowled in many different leagues. She will be remembered for her candid picture taking of her family and friends. She especially loved spending time with her grandson, David.
She is survived by her husband, Chip McCandless, daughter, Christina Parris and grandson, David Parris; all of Daytona Beach, Fla. Cindy is also survived by her mother, Lois Chapman; sisters: Barb (Bob) Sauer, Rhonda (Dick) Morrison, all of Kennedy, N.Y., and Gloria (Don) Waite of Chambersburg, Pa.; and brothers: Wayne (Brenda) Chapman and Sherwood (Patti) Chapman of Kennedy, N.Y.
Cindy was preceded in death by her father, Alfred Chapman, in 1993; her grandparents, Elton and Katherine Butts; and four first cousins: Allan Chapman in 2012, Bruce Chap-man in 2011, David Chapman in 2008, and Cheryl Coons in 1998.
Services were held on June 17, 2013, at the Haigh-Black Funeral Home in Ormond Beach and interment followed the service at Shady Rest Cemetery in Daytona Beach.
A memorial service will be planned for her at a later date.
