CHERRY CREEK - The 2013 Summer Gazebo Concert Series begins Thursday, at 6:30 p.m., with music by Oliverio.
All concerts will be held in the Memorial Park on Main Street, behind the Town Hall, with the performance from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Supper-type refreshments will be available, and those planning to attend the concert are reminded to bring their own lawn chairs for seating.
This summer's concert series is entitled "Easel Yourself Into Music," which is certainly appropriate since the concerts occurring on July 11 and July 18 will feature the artistic works of Pine Valley Central School art students.
"Since music and art are both forms of self-expression, we wanted to incorporate them this summer," explained Brenda Hendricks of the Cherry Creek Community Association Inc. "'Oliverio' has become a popular group in our area. They have a large following that accompanies them, and they have become popular with our regular concert attendees as well. They performed at our Independence Day Celebration before joining the concert lineup a couple years ago. It should be a wonderful beginning of this concert season."
The concert will be held rain or shine. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be at the Pine Valley VFW on Route 83 in Cherry Creek.
The 2013 Cherry Creek Summer Gazebo Concert Series is sponsored by the Cherry Creek Community Association Inc., and funded in part by the New York State Council on the Arts Decentralization Regrant Program supported by Governor Andrew Cuomo and administered by the Cattaraugus County Arts Council, area businesses, the town and village of Cherry Creek and community members.
