H. Lowell Monroe, 82, of 811 Spring St., died Friday (June 21, 2013), in his home.
He was born Dec. 20, 1930, in Jamestown, the son of Harley and Daisy Monroe.
He had been a self-employed truck driver, and in earlier years had been an iron worker.

Surviving are two sons: William L. and Larry Monroe, both of Jamestown; a daughter, Gail (Gary) Johnson of Kennedy; three grandchildren: Paul Snyder and Kristopher and Bradon Johnson; seven great-grandchildren; and four brothers: Charles, John Paul, Darrel and Douglas Monroe.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alda E. McCool Monroe, who died Sept. 29, 2011.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Monday in Powers, Present & Sixbey Funeral Home. There will be no funeral service.
