MAYVILLE - Lou Clementi, manager of boat rentals at Chautauqua Marina, Mayville, recently presented a fishing session to Cub Scout Pack 126 in preparation for completing their Fishing Belt Loop requirements and to prepare for the Free Youth Fishing Contest to be held during the National Marina "Scout Lake Day" Celebration on Aug. 3 at Chautauqua Marina. Supplies for the fishing session were donated by Chautauqua Marina, Watermark Restaurant and Harpers Bait and Tackle.
National Marina "Scout Lake Day" Celebration will be hosted this year by Cub Scout Pack 126 on Saturday, Aug. 3 at Chautauqua Marina. All Cub Scout Packs in the Allegheny Highlands Council are invited to join the free youth fishing contest. As well the event is open to the public. Fishing registrations can be obtained by emailing or calling Chautauqua Marina at Boatsafety@aol.com or 753-3913 by Sunday, June 30.
The event is open to the public and is the marina's way of educating residents and visitors the importance of keeping our waterways safe, clean and fun for years to come. In addition to the Free Youth Fishing Contest, Mike Sperry will present a Free Musky Fishing Seminar. There will also be a Boat Safety Class that meets all the requirements for the New York Safe Boating Program.
