The town of Poland is applying for Community Development Block Grant funds through the New York State Office of Community Renewal to assist low and moderate income homeowners in the town of Poland with home repairs. Using CDBG funds, the town provides grants to eligible homeowners for necessary repairs such as roofs, windows, furnaces, insulation, electrical upgrades, etc. The town has successfully delivered two prior CDBG programs, assisting 27 homeowners throughout the town.
In order to show that there is interest and a need for the program, the town is looking for homeowners who are interested in participating. To be eligible, you must be a homeowner in the town of Poland, be current on your property taxes and be low to moderate income. The maximum income for a household of one is $32,350, for a household of two is $36,950, for a household of three is $41,550 and for a household of four is $46,150. Income limits continue to increase as household size increases. Rental properties will not be eligible for assistance.
