PANAMA -Former boys varsity basketball coach Loren Smith and Panama Central School will again play host to the annual 2013 Boys and Girls Southern Tier Basketball Camps, which began in 1996.
The Boys Camp will take place July 8-12 with Monday through Thursday sessions set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
As for the Girls Camp, the sessions are slated for July 15-19 and will follow the same time schedule as the Boys Camp.
The cost per camper is $110 and families may subtract $10 each for more than one boys or girl and an additional $10 may be saved if the entry is postmarked before Friday, June 28. Participants will receive a camp T-shirt, special awards and personal evaluations.
There will be two divisions in each camp and trophies will be awarded in each division.
Campers should bring proper shoes, shorts and socks, as well as a water bottle, swim gear and pack a lunch.
In order to participate, boys and girls must be entering grades 4-9 as of September 2013.
Nearly 100 players participated in the camps last year from a number of area schools.
