Ed Shults Ford Lincoln is among the top 1 percent of Ford and Lincoln dealers in the country in 2012.
For achieving the highest levels of customer satisfaction - in both sales and service - in automotive retailing, the dealership received Ford Motor Company's President's Award on Monday.
During a luncheon for Ford and Shults employees and their customers, Ed Shults III, Shults Auto Group managing partner, and Tim Shults, Shults Auto Group president, accepted the award from Liz Dwyer, Ford Motor Company Pittsburgh region sales manager, and Bob Hinshaw, Ford Motor Company Pittsburgh region parts and service manager.

Out of 5,000 dealerships nationwide, only 340 received the award. Ed Shults III said the dealership has steadily improved each year since the Shults Auto Group purchased the dealership in 2005. Shults said a lot of changes were made to the business through the years when it comes to personnel and how many cars the dealership has to display. He said in 2011 the business doubled their sales and, in 2012, sales increased again.
''I have to thank the customers. Without them, I wouldn't be here today,'' Shults said about receiving the award.
The President's Award is only given to dealers who have excelled in achieving the best customer satisfaction and are Blue Oval Certified. Shults said the President's Award exemplifies Shults Auto Group's commitment to their customers by addressing any concerns they may have in an expedient manner.
"Ed Shults Ford Lincoln is proud to achieve this award due to hard work and accepting only complete customer satisfaction, putting our customers first both before and after the sale,'' he said. ''To be recognized by Ford and Lincoln Motor Company and be given this most prestigious award lets us know we are doing something right. When ranked in the top 1 percent of Ford and Lincoln dealers in the country, it is truly an achievement all dealers strive to accomplish."
Hinshaw said to receive the award from Ford, a dealership not only has to excel in customer service and satisfaction, but also must succeed in sales, as well.
''This is Ford's most prestigious honor,'' he said.
Dwyer added that she could instantly sense the family atmosphere that has been created by the family-run business.
''You can feel the passion ... that is what I felt here today,'' she said.
