Sticker Program Now Enforced
NORTH HARMONY - The town of North Harmony's new sticker program is being strictly enforced at the transfer station. Town residents without a sticker will not be allowed to use the service. Applications are available at the town clerk's office, by calling 789-3445, ext. 2. or can be downloaded at townofnorthharmony.com.
Blue Star Mothers To Meet Today
WESTFIELD - The Lake Erie NY Chapter 4 of the Blue Star Mothers of America will be holding its next meeting at Cross Roads today at 10 a.m. in the pavilion. Anyone with a child serving in the military, or anyone who would just like to support the troops is welcome. The Blue Star Mothers will be also celebrating the grand opening of the new booth at Cross Roads. They will now have a front porch to visit and learn about the organization.
Doug Houck To Appear On Show
MAYVILLE - Senior Report with Reed Powers will have Doug Houck as the guest on today's television program. Houck will discuss gas and oil well hydraulic fracturing. The live, call-in program airs from 9-10 a.m. on Saturday morning. Individuals may call 753-5225 during that time with questions or comments. The program is rebroadcast each day at 2 and 8 p.m. for some communities. The guest is subject to change. Senior Report is shown live on Saturday mornings on Time Warner cable systems covering the following communities: Brocton, Cassadaga, Chautauqua, Fredonia, Mayville, North Harmony, Portland, Ripley, Sherman, Stockton and Westfield on Channel 5. In Dunkirk, Falconer, Forestville, Hanover, Irving, Jamestown, Lakewood and Silver Creek the program is on channel 19. The show originates at the Access Channel 5 studio in Mayville.
Programs Require Registration
LAKEWOOD - The New York State Summer Reading Program for children, ''Dig Into Reading,'' will be held at 10 a.m. each Tuesday from July 2 through July 23 for children, ages 3 to 11, in the Lakewood Memorial Library, 12 W. Summit St., Lakewood. Featured will be storytellers, musical performers, puppets and a visit from a member of the Jamestown Audubon Society. Mother Goose will also be back with storytime sessions for preschoolers from 10-10:45 a.m. each Friday from July 5-19. A pajama night will be from 7-7:45 p.m. on July 26. Registration for the summer reading program is required and will begin on Monday in the library. For more information, call 763-6234.
War Vets To Open Pool Today
The War Vets Recreation Club, 3431 Fluvanna Road, will open their outdoor swimming pool today. Pool memberships are open to both members and non-members of the War Vet's. Regular daily swimming will continue each day from 1-6 p.m. The closing hours may be extended for private family celebration events with special arrangements and a nominal fee to cover lifeguard expenses. Pool membership forms are available at the bar.
Panama To Hold Joint Meeting
PANAMA - The Panama Central School Board of Education will hold a joint board meeting with Clymer Central School Board of Education on Monday at 7 p.m. in the Panama Auditorium. The purpose of the meeting is basic fact finding in respect to the concept of a shared superintendent. This meeting is open to the public.
