Frances Goodrich Carl-son, 96, formerly of Brocton, N.Y., passed away Thursday morning at Heritage Village Nursing Home in Gerry, N.Y., with her loving husband, Paul, by her side. They had celebrated 72 years of marriage with one another.
Frances was born in East Otto, N.Y., on June 11, 1917, and was the daughter of the late Lonnie and Montie Goodrich. Francis was a graduate of Cattaraugus High School be-fore making her home in Brocton, N.Y.
She was the senior library clerk for many years at the Ahira Hall Memorial Library of Brocton, N.Y. Frances was also a very active member in the former United Methodist Church and what is now The Tri-Church Parish of Brocton. She belonged to The womens group called the Spirit Lifters.
Frances loved her family, enjoyed reading and flowers and working cross-word puzzles. She was also an excellent seamstress, and above all was a great listener.
Frances is survived by her loving husband, Paul Carlson: her children: Linda (Don) Deering of South Carolina, Sue (Eric) Lamb of Fredonia, N.Y., and David (Ginnie) Carlson of Pennsylvania; nine gran-children, 15 great-grand-children; and five great- great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by one son, Blair Carlson; a granddaughter, Laurie Deering; and a great-grand- daughter, Taylor.
Funeral services will be held from the Morse Funeral Home in Brocton, N.Y., on Sunday, June 16, 2013, at 4 p.m. with visitation from 3-4 p.m. prior to the service. The Rev. Sam Shreffler, chaplin at Heri-tage Village Nursing Home, will officiate. Interment will take place in East Otto, at at later time and at the convenience of the family.
