LAKEWOOD - Raymour & Flanigan will be teaming up with several local nonprofit organizations to host a fundraiser this weekend.
The event, which will benefit the Chautauqua County Humane Society and the Greyhound Society, will run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. It is being held in the Raymour & Flanigan parking lot, located at 1001 Fairmount Ave.
"We are accepting cash and furniture donations for the two associations," said Tiffany Walrod, Raymour and Flanigan Furniture sales manager. "Second Chances (Thrift Store) will be here. They will have a truck here for anyone who wants to drop off a furniture or accessory donation."
According to Walrod, Second Chances will also be available to schedule pickups for anyone who would like to have furniture picked up to donate to the organizations.
During the event, anyone who makes a donation will also receive a 10 percent coupon that is good toward a purchase at Raymour & Flanigan. Area Cub Scouts will also be on hand at the event selling hot dogs and beverages.
Several other pet-related organizations have joined in on the event, as well. Dog Moms, a local company that offers services such as grooming, boarding and day care, will be available during the event, clipping animals' nails and splitting the proceeds with the Humane Society and Greyhound Society. Petsmart will have a trainer available at the event, as well as "goody bags," and Just Fur Fun Pet Shop, located in Randolph, will be present, too.
According to Walrod, The Chatter Box DJ will be providing entertainment for the duration of the event, including karaoke.
Workers from the Humane Society will be at the event with dogs and cats for the majority of the day, and members of the Greyhound association will also be there with dogs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Characters dressed in cat and dog costumes will be there to hand out dog treats between 1:30-3 p.m.
