ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT
Ricky L. Houghwot Jr., 33, of Delaware Avenue, Falconer, was issued an appearance ticket Tuesday after police responded for an unwanted individual who was found sitting in a vehicle that did not belong to him. During their investigation, Houghwot was found in possession of marijuana. He is scheduled to be in court at a later date.
JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
Angela L. Swabik, 38, was charged at 6:05 p.m. on Tuesday with fourth-degree criminal mischief and unnecessary noise. Officers responded to Broadhead Avenue for a domestic incident. Swabik was found to have broken a window at the residence. She also began yelling and swearing at officers as they conducted their investigation, and was taken into custody. She was held pending arraignment.
WESTFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT
Andrew R. George, 20, of Erie, Pa., was charged at 7:35 p.m. on Saturday with unlawful possession of marijuana. A vehicle was stopped on West Main Street for speeding. George was found in possession of marijuana and was issued an appearance ticket to be back in court at a later date.
Amanda K. Overbeck, 25, was charged at 11:30 p.m. on May 30 with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated per se and moving from a lane unsafely. Police were investigating an accident on South Portage Street and found Overbeck had driven across the white hazzard marking and struck a parked vehicle. She was found to have been operating her vehicle in an intoxicated state and will appear in Westfield Court at a later date.
Jesse A. Newman, 47, of Cass Street, was charged at 10:06 p.m. on May 31 with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of a child. Officers responded to Cass Street for a harassment complaint and observed Newman smoking a controlled substance. He was also found to be in possession of Psilocybin mushrooms and Fentanyl near a child. Newman was arraigned and remanded to Chautauqua County Jail.
Leonard J. Erhard, 35, of East Chautauqua Street, was charged at 7:30 p.m. on May 29 with open container. Police were dispatched for two suspicious males on Market Street and found Erhard to be in possession of a bottle of beer. He was issued an appearance ticket and is due back in court at a later date.
Thomas F. Stoughton, 30, of East Route 20, was charged at 11:17 p.m. on Saturday with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, aggravated driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .18 percent or greater and failure to stop at a stop sign. Officers observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign on Creamery Road and found Stoughton to be in an intoxicated state. Stoughton's license was found to have been suspended due to a prior drinking and driving offense. He is scheduled to appear in Westfield Court at a later date. Police were assisted by the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office.
Three youths were charged at 8:40 p.m. on May 30 with third-degree trespassing after a concerned citizen notified police of several subjects crossing the Norfolk Southern Railroad Bridge. Police found the three youths still on the bridge when they arrived and removed them.
A 16-year-old male was charged at 7:25 a.m. on Wednesday with disorderly conduct. Police were on patrol and observed the male riding his skateboard down the center of North Gale Road, obstructing traffic. He was issued an appearance ticket and will be in Westfield Court at a later date.
LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT
Chelsea L. Haskins, 21, of Cassadaga Road, was charged at 6:53 p.m. on May 21 with second-degree aggravated harassment and criminal contempt. Police received a complaint about Haskins calling and threatening a person with whom there was an order of protection between them. Haskins was taken into custody on an arrest warrant and arraigned in Busti Court. She is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
Mari J. Knight, 38, of Newton Street, Jamestown, was charged at noon on Thursday with issuing a bad check and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Knight was taken into custody on an arrest warrant for issuing a bad check to Johnson's Keystone in Busti in the amount of $1,175 on April 1. She was sent to Chautauqua County Jail.
