ELLICOTT - A fixed sobriety checkpoint on Fairmount Avenue in Ellicott and saturation patrols throughout Chautauqua County resulted in multiple charges Saturday.
Kelly M. Davis, 42, of Stoneman Avenue, Lakewood, was charged with driving while intoxicated. Davis approached the stationary road check and exhibited signs of intoxication, police said.
Davis failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody for DWI. A chemical test administered at police barracks in Jamestown revealed her blood alcohol content to be .15 percent, almost twice the legal limit.
Davis was arraigned in Ellicott Town Court and remanded to Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail.
Also charged Saturday was Matthew R. Howard, 19, of Hanson Street, Falconer, for unlawful possession of marijuana. Howard was stopped for a broken windshield on Allen Street in Ellicott, and was found in possession of 19 grams of marijuana.
Howard was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Ellicott Court.
Shane W. Cook, 30, of King's Corners, Panama, was charged with driving while intoxicated. Cook was found to be operating a motor vehicle without head lamps activated at 2:10 a.m. on Lakeside Drive in Bemus Point.
Cook was taken into custody after failing field sobriety tests; a chemical test revealed Cook's BAC to be .12 percent. He was issued traffic tickets returnable to Ellery Town Court.
