A city man has been remanded to Chautauqua County Jail following a weeks-long investigation by the Jamestown Police Department, city drug enforcement unit and State Police.
A search warrant was executed early Wednesday by police and members of the Community Narcotics Enforcement Team at 402 Lafayette St. Tyrone M. Schaffer, 35, was located within the residence and was found in possession of a large quantity of crack cocaine, a police report said.
Schaffer also was allegedly in possession of drug paraphernalia and cash, police said.
The city resident was taken into custody without incident and charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class B felony; first-degree criminal nuisance, a class E felony; and criminally using drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.
Schaffer was arraigned in Jamestown City Court and remanded to County Jail. He will be back in court at a later date for a preliminary hearing.
