Homestays are sought for students who will visit the region in late July and early August as part of Jamestown Community College's international outreach programs.
Area families or individuals who have an interest in hosting an international student are encouraged to call JCC at 338-1291 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. The students will participate in English classes and other activities during the day but will have the ability to immerse themselves in American culture and continue to practice English during the evenings with their hosts.
Among the students will be a group whose members range in age from 18-22 and are enrolled at Showa University, a medical school in Tokyo, Japan. They will participate in English as a Second Language instruction and experience Chautauqua County and Western New York culture during their visit from July 26 to Aug. 6.
JCC's English Immersion Program, offered July 22 to Aug. 9, will also bring college students and older individuals from other countries to the area, giving area residents another opportunity to provide hospitality.
