A Jamestown man looking for an early-morning snack at a downtown hotel was charged Tuesday with burglary and petit larceny.
Jamestown police charged Robert Cavender, 56, of East Fifth Street, after staff at the Ramada reported a male who had broken into the kitchen and banquet area of the hotel.
Cavender allegedly fled the scene when police arrived.
An investigation revealed the Jamestown resident was discovered by an employee in the hotel eating shrimp, ice cream bars and frozen breakfast sandwiches inside the kitchen cooler.
After reportedly leaving for a while, Cavender was later seen in an elevator in possession of several bottles of liquor from the hotel banquet room.
Cavender was eventually taken into custody around 3 a.m. and charged with felony third-degree burglary, fourth-degree criminal mischief and petit larceny. He was remanded to Chautauqua County Jail.
