FALCONER - It was an hour into his Falconer Lady Golden Falcons' track and field meet with visiting Salamanca and coach Mike Lebaron didn't like what he was seeing.
"Before the meet started I had a lineup that I wanted to go with," Lebaron said, "and after the first quarter of the meet I had to completely change that lineup because things weren't going our way."
Staring down a possible league loss - which would have been the first for Lebaron and company since May of 2001, or, in other words, more than 90 meets - Lebaron scrapped his previously planned lineup and rearranged on the fly.

It proved to be a perfectly-timed maneuver.
Led by triple winner Mackenzie Wright and double winners Makalia Haveron and Kirsten Holmberg, Falconer won a surprisingly hard-fought contest over the Lady Warriors on Tuesday afternoon, 73-68.
The victory improved the Lady Golden Falcons' still-unblemished record to 8-0 overall and 4-0 in league.
"It was a tight meet all the way through," Lebaron continued. "I was very impressed with Salamanca today, but in the end (the win) came down to trust.
"They trust their coach and I trust them."
It undoubtedly helps to have athletes like Wright, Haveron and Holmberg on your side, too.
Wright enjoyed a well-rounded day as she placed first in the 100 meters (13.4), the 400 hurdles (1:12) and the triple jump (34-3). Haveron clinched the 400 in 1:06 and later took the long jump (15-5) while Holmberg crossed the finish line first in both the 800 (2:35) and the 3,000 meters (4:40).
"Mackenzie had another really nice meet," Lebaron said. "And her sister (Brittany) may have only won once, but she was right behind her in the 100 and triple jump."
Brittany Wright's lone victory was in the 100 hurdles, finishing in 16.9. Other winners include Amber Micek (1,500 in 5:36), Alyssa Brooks (discus) and Lechandre Mix (high jump).
