MAYVILLE - Hannah Rauh drilled a single in the bottom of the seventh inning to break a 9-9 tie and give Chautauqua Lake a crucial 10-9 Division 3 softball victory over Maple Grove on Saturday.
Chautauqua Lake (7-3, 4-3) had been trailing, 9-5, going into the bottom half of the frame, but scored - thanks to four hits, including a double by Ashley Moulton - just enough to pick up the victory in walk-off fashion.
Moulton (two RBIs), along with winning pitcher Lauren Cummings (three RBIs) and Courtney Hewes, delivered a double and a single apiece in the victory while Rauh finished with two hits and drove in a pair of runs.
Taylor Satalino and Brianne Davis led Maple Grove with two hits each.

MAYVILLE - Jessie Herrington earned both the win and the save during Chautauqua Lake's (6-3, 3-3) non-league victory over Clymer, 10-8, on Friday afternoon.
Herrington started the game and probably thought her day in the circle was finished after helping the Lady Thunderbirds, who overcame an early 2-1 deficit, to a commanding 8-2 advantage by the close of the fourth frame.
After that fourth inning, which saw Chautauqua Lake collect nine hits and seven runs, the Lady Thunderbirds tacked two more on the board to make the score 10-2, and Herrington relinquished pitching duties.
Clymer wasn't quite finished, however, and scored six runs in the sixth against the Chautauqua Lake reliever to cut the deficit to a mere two runs.
That's when Herrington, who ended up fanning six and allowing just one earned run on three hits, returned to the circle and shut the door to secure the win.
Herrington, along with teammate Chelsea Messinger, also led the victors at the plate with two hits and two RBIs apiece. Luci Sena and Ashley Moulton chipped in with two hits each, and Sena swiped three bases.
