Samuel A. Pollaro, 81, of 189 Baker St., Jamestown, died Monday (April 22, 2013), in WCA Hospital.
He was born Aug. 19, 1931, in Jamestown, the son of the late Charles N. and Jennie D'Angles Pollaro Sr.
At a young age, Sam started working for his father at Charlie's Paint Shop, working until his retirement as owner/operator. He was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church, and was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, boating on Chautauqua Lake, and sitting on his front porch on every nice day. Sam loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife, Ann DiFrisco Pollaro, whom he married June 28, 1953; two sons: Dennis (Brenda) Pollaro of Frewsburg, and Thomas (LeeAnne) Pollaro of Jamestown; two daughters: Gale Pollaro of Jamestown, and Jennifer (Gary) Rash of Spartensburg, N.C.; eight grandchildren: Dennis Pollaro Jr, Christina Pollaro, Tasha Pollaro, Kara Pollaro (John) Lundgren, Brandon Pollaro, Matthew Rash, Mitchell Rash, Aaron Rash; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Pollaro Jr.; and a sister, Pastor Lucille Pollaro Zulick.
Sam will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends, and will always be fondly remembered for his saying; "What are you going to do?"
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
