MINA - Charges are pending against a Pennsylvania woman who police said lost control of her vehicle in the town of Mina and struck a telephone pole.
Deputies on Saturday responded around 10 p.m. to a one-car accident on Route 426. The driver, Darcy J. Smith, 49, of Youngsville, Pa., was operating the vehicle when she lost control and entered the eastbound ditch.
According to a police report, Smith's vehicle struck a telephone pole in the accident. Smith and her passenger, Charles W. Insinger, 53, also of Youngsville, were both treated at the scene by Findley Lake and Sherman fire departments.
Insinger was taken to Hamot Medical Center by Starflight helicopter for his injuries; Smith was transported by ambulance to the Erie hospital for treatment of her injuries, police said.
The Sheriff's Office is investigating the accident. Deputies said charges are pending at this time.
