Jamestown Community College won a thrilling game with two-out lightning in the nightcap of Thursday's NJCAA Region 3 Division III baseball doubleheader against Niagara County CC at Diethrick Park.
The Jayhawks (8-8, 8-20) trailed by a 3-2 score entering the seventh when they scored two runs to pull out a 4-3 victory and a split of the twin bill.
In the first game, the Jayhawks got only four hits and suffered a 10-0 setback.
Kody Kondrilk hit a two-out, two-run single off the fence to bring home the tying and winning runs for JCC in the second game.
Richard Allen started off the winning rally by drawing a walk. Jose Hernandez was safe on an error and Christian Van Note bounced into a double play with Allen taking third base.
Elio Gonzalez got a big hit, a tying double, and Kondrilk singled in the winning run.
Dylan Caldwell pitched a complete-game victory, scattering 10 hits with two strikeouts and two walks.
Gonzalez wound up with three hits and Connor Borowski two in the victory.
Matt Fowler was the losing pitcher in the opener, working 5 innings, permitting seven hits, striking out three and walking two.
Josh Allen, Imaziah McIntosh, Hernandez and Borowski had hits for the Jayhawks.
JCC has home-and-home doubleheaders scheduled with Broome CC this weekend. First, the Jayhawks play at Broome CC on Saturday and then return to Diethrick Park on Sunday.
