Mary JoAnne Raimondo of Jamestown, N.Y., passed away on April 15, 2013.
She was born Dec. 26, 1921, in Chadron, Neb., to Luigi and Angela Occhiuto Ditonto.
Mary was a stellar student, who after high school trained and worked as a dental nurse in Sioux City, S.D., prior to moving to California, where she was sought after by the movie industry in Hollywood. In the 1950s she moved to Jamestown, N.Y., where she met and married Albert J. Raimondo. Together with her husband, she saw the growth and expansion of Goldstar Supermarket, Levant, N.Y. During this time she enjoyed raising her family and being a homemaker. In later years, she worked in retail both at Bigelow's Department Store and at Wright's fashion store, Lakewood, N.Y. Throughout her life, she was a communicant at Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church, Falconer, N.Y.

Mary will be remembered for her excellent sense of fashion, beautiful smile and generosity. She was a devoted daughter, proud wife, beloved mother, doting grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers: Gus (Margaret) Yeradi, Tom (Aileen) Yeradi, Lib (Ruby) and Pa-trick (Florence) Ditonto: her parents-in-law: Samuel and Rose Raimondo; brothers-in-law: Frank and Thomas (Midge) Raimondo: and son-in-law, C. Ronald Foote.
She is survived by her children: Beverly Ann Foote, Lakewood, N.Y., and Samuel (Una) Raimondo, Jamestown, N.Y.; grandchildren: Ryan Foote, Charlotte, N.C., Elliot Raimondo, Buffalo, N,Y, and Chiara Raimondo, Jamestown, N.Y.; great-grandchildren: Abigail and Gavin Foote, Charlotte, N.C.; two sisters-in-law: Ann Raimondo and Terri Raimondo Fillipini, Brick, N.J. She will be especially missed by her loving nieces Rozanne Hammond, Jamestown, Cheryl Davis (John) Davis, Aurora, Colo. and Linda (Ralph) Byerly, Texas; and special friend John Gordon, Lily Dale, N.Y. and Austin, Texas. In addition to many nieces and nephews in California, Idaho, Arizona, Montana, Kansas, Oklahoma, Oregon and Nebraska, Mary is survived by her nieces: Patti Trussler, Bemus Point, Linda Davenport, Tennessee, Cherrie Raimondo, Jamestown, Tammy Raimondo, Falconer; nephews: David (Jane) Raimondo, Prescott, Ariz., and Russell Raimondo, Jamestown, N.Y. Several cousins survive her including Frank (Kathy) Occhiuto, Buffalo, N.Y., and Ben (Nellie) Ditonto, Lakewood, N.Y.
A memorial service to be held, will be announced at a later date, at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed.
