Donald Louis Richetti, 82, of North Port. Fla. (formerly of Jamestown, NY), passed away peacefully at home on April 14, 2013.
Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 19, 2013, at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in North Port , Fla.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. at Sarasota Memorial Cemetery.
Donald was born in Jamestown, N.Y., to Nicholas M. and Angeline (Palace) Richetti.
He retired as a retail credit investigator in 1990. He and wife, Carol, moved to North Port, Fla., in 1994.
He loved the New York Yankees and the Buffalo Bills. He was a coach for Babe Ruth baseball and a supporter of the Boy Scouts of America. In his spare time he was a referee for high school football and basketball. His wife and he enjoyed camping and travelling.
Donald graduated from Jamestown High School in 1948 and attended Grove City College before enlisting into the U.S. Air Force. He was a staff sergeant and a veteran of the Korean War.
Donald is survived by his devoted wife, Carol, of 61 years, his sons: Donald (Cindy) Richetti of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., and William (Shaun) Richetti of Port Charlotte, Fla.; and daughters: Susan and Patricia of Houston, Texas.
Don and Carol have nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
