Judo Awards

Three athletes received medals at the 2013 Akiya Memorial Judo Tournament in Cleveland recently. Michael Bryan, a teacher from Erie, second from left, won the bronze medal in the Heavyweight Open Novice Division. Kyla Prindle-Cassidy, center, a student at Maple Grove High School, won silver in the Women's Brown Belt Division and Dr. Stephen Gordon of Jamestown, second from right, also received silver in the Middleweight Novice Division. All three are members of the SHIN GI TAI Judo Club that trains at the Jamestown Community College Total Fitness Center. The Judo club is registered and chartered with the United States Judo Association and with USA Judo. Paul Kahanic, left, Dr. Richard Moon, right, are certified instructors with the USJA and USA Judo and offer sport and self-defense Judo lessons as a community service to JCC Students and to non-student community members who belong to JCC's Total Fitness Center.
