Francis A. "Frank" Pinzone, 78, of Conewango Ave., Celoron, died at 5:19 p.m. Wednesday (April 10, 2013), in WCA Hospital.
He was born May 10, 1934, in Jamestown, the son of Anthony and Anna Marie Pinzone.
He was a graduate of Jamestown High School, and served with the U.S. Navy SEABEES.
Prior to retiring, he had been employed as a metal fabricator and painter at Spray-Tech Finishing and had earlier worked at several other area metal manufacturers. He was also the owner of the P&S Sports Shop from 1968 to 2003.
He was a member and past president of both the Skyline Archery Club and the Gerry Valley Bow Hunters. He was the state field and target archery champion several times, and was also a former indoor archery state champion. He was a former member of the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club and the Chautauqua Lake Fishing Association. In addition to archery, he enjoyed hunt-ing and was an all-around great outdoorsman.
Surviving are two sons: Frank A.J. (Sandra) Pinzone Jr. of Tupelo, Miss., and Mark T. Pinzone of Celoron; five grandchildren: Frank A. J. Pinzone III of Nashville, Tenn., Jannis M. Pinzone of Corry, Pa., Jessica A. and Joey A. Pin-zone, both of Jamestown, and Alice M. Pinzone of Warren, Pa.; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice M. Zambotti Pinzone, whom he married Aug. 16, 1953, and who died April 11, 2009.
There will be no funeral service or visitation.
