The Preceptor Alpha Upsilon chapter of Beta Sigma Phi will hold A "Wendy's Community Night" on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the Wendy's East Second Street location in Jamestown. Fifteen percent of all sales will benefit the chapter donation to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Members of the chapter have flyers to hand out from Wendy's. Donations can be made by handing in the flyer or mentioning the fundraiser for St Jude's at the time of purchase.
The chapter recently held a fundraiser at the Chautauqua Institution and the Chautauqua Bookstore. Basketfuls of items were collected for the Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue in Westfield, of which Marcia Okerlund is the director. Items will be delivered to the NCCR by chapter service committee members Sheryl Thayer and Andi Swartzman. Both members work in the Chautauqua Institution program office.
The next meeting will be held at the home of Pat Thomas on April 22.
The chapter will celebrate Beta Sigma Phi Founder's Day on April 27 at the Babalu Cafe in Jamestown. Member Kathy Nicastro will be eligible to receive the Laureate Degree and the Order of the Rose Ritual.
Installation of new officers will take place on May 13 in the home of Sue Boland.
The chapter will host the May 20 meeting of the Interclub Council at the Marvin House. Gail Black, local businesswoman and author, will be the guest speaker.
A picnic is being planned for June.
