A man wanted for his role in an April 5 shooting in Dunkirk was taken into custody Thursday afternoon in Jamestown.
The Jamestown Police Department received information that 26-year-old Montel C. Cooper of Dunkirk was hiding out in an apartment on North Main Street in Jamestown. Cooper was wanted for second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon stemming from last Friday's incident and at that time police noted his connection to the Jamestown area.
Cooper was taken into custody without incident, transported to Jamestown City Jail and then turned over to officers from the Dunkirk Police Department.
