PANAMA - The Harmony Senior Citizens met recently for their monthly meeting at the Panama United Methodist Church.
Beverly Smith conducted the meeting with the usual reports given and approved. Melvin Lord, chaplain, welcomed everyone by reading the poem "My Mother's Kitchen," led the flag salute and asked the blessing.
There were 50 members in attendance.
Joan Wiggers won first place during the Easter hat parade with Tom Smith taking second place and Pauline Edsel third place.
Birthdays were celebrated by Calvin Carr, Joanne Fisher, Bev Lindstrom, Keith Miller, Sharon Nutt, MaryLou Stevens, Don Sturges, Elinor Struges, Jean Trisket, Jean Vanderkooi and Lester Wevers. Anniversaries were celebrated by Steve and Wendy Raynor and Chuck and Dee Ellis.
Entertainment was Brook Barone from SNAP.
The May 2 meeting will start at 5 p.m. at the Panama United Methodist Church in Panama with soup and sandwiches available for a $5 donation. Reservations are to be made. Entertainment will be The Crossmen at 6:30 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.
Committee members are: Sally Hagg, Bev Smith, Lester Wevers, Melvin Lord, Ellen Coffaro, Dottie Enlow and Wendy Raynor.
Senior Council Trivia Day will be May 9 at the North Harmony Club House. Teams have been selected for the games.
Pig and Poke and other prizes were given out.
