MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Trevor Spicer made a successful debut in leading Frewsburg (1-1) to victory in the Mingo Bay Baseball Classic on Wednesday.
Spicer, a junior, hurled six innings, yielding five hits with seven strikeouts and five walks as the Bears beat Sherman, W. Va., 12-3.

Pat Caldwell pitched a scoreless seventh inning with two walks and a strikeout.
The Bears scored in all six innings they batted and managed 10 hits.
Frewsburg started off with three runs in the first inning as Spicer and Bryce Peterson singled home runs and another scored on a wild pitch.
Two more runs scored in the second with the singling Mike Mammoser scoring on a passed ball and Brett Johnson delivering an RBI single.
In the third, the Bears tallied two more runs when Nick Long and Caldwell singled home runs.
Nick Fardink walked and eventually scored on a wild pitch in the fourth.
Frewsburg added two more in the fifth and sixth innings with both runs in the fifth scoring via the passed balls. Fardink and Brett Johnson picked up singles and Tage Johnson drilled a two-run triple in the sixth.
Brett Johnson and Spicer had two hits for the Bears while John Hunter drilled three hits in defeat.
Sherman scored single runs in the first three innings.
Hammonton, N.J., is the opposition for the Bears at 11 a.m. today.
