Dust of the Rabbi is a a hands-on sensory walk in the footsteps of Christ in his last hours. With attendance reaching well beyond expectations in the past, many have been drawn to the event as a way of reconnecting with the true Easter experience.
A combined Seder and Dusti of the Rabbi event will be Thursday. Reservations are required by calling the church at 483-3331.
"This is our third year," said Todd Pullan, artistic director. "We've added two new scenes and have started what appears to be a lifelong friendship with Messianic Minister Philip Petscher of Hatikvah Ministries, who will lead our authentic Seder ritual in anticipation of Passover. Following our catered dinner, our guests will have the opportunity to walk in the footprints of Jesus experiencing the sights, sounds and emotions Jesus may have experienced as he rode triumphantly into Jerusalem and was crucified on the cross."
Volunteers have worked throughout the last year on the production. In addition to the two new scenes, others are being revamped or upgraded to continue to make the event as engaging to those who have been through before as well as those new to it. Much research is done to make each and every scene as faithful to the actual events as possible. Information and inspiration is taken from many sources, including passages from the Bible, Biblical illustrations and movies depicting the events.
