Roger John Kotsaqis, 80, passed away at his home in Crystal Lake, Illinois, on Sept. 27, 2012.
He was born in Jamestown, N.Y., to Steve and Artemisi Kotsaqis. He gra-duated from Jamestown High School and attended Marietta College in Mariet-ta, Ohio, where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.
In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his sister, Eftali Samata, and a cousin, Paul Spero, who was like a brother.
Roger is survived by his sons: Stephen and John Kotsaqis; a sister, Mary Andrews and her son, Paul and daughter, Lisa; nephews Gregory and Steven Samata; and cousins, Violet Kianos and Catherine Tetro of Jamestown, Christ Dhmitri of Philadelphia, and Vasil Kacori of Tirana, Albania.
Roger was proud of his Albanian heritage. He was fluent in the Albanian language and had traveled to Albania several times to visit relatives. He followed his father in the restaurant-bar business, owning/co-owning several establishments in suburban Chicago.
A gathering of family and friends to honor and remember Roger was held at Roger's favorite "hangout," Mama Rini's Restaurant, in Crystal Lake, Ill.
