CHAUTAUQUA - A Mayville man was taken to Westfield Memorial Hospital with minor injuries after a two-car accident in the town of Chautauqua on Thursday afternoon.
Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies responded to the crash at 5:58 p.m. Michael C. Cochrane, 25, Brandy R. Cochrane, 26 and a 1-year-old child were traveling along Plank Road when Nicholas C. Shields, 22, of Mayville allegedly pulled out of a driveway into the path of the Cochranes. Neither driver was able to avoid the crash, one vehicle T-boned the other and came to rest in a ditch blocking the driveway.
Shields was transported to Westfield hospital and the Cochranes were not injured.
The investigation is continuing and charges are pending against Shields.
The Hartfield and Mayville volunteer fire departments assisted at the scene.
