Several items have been added to the Every Little Black Dress Needs a Pink Ribbon Gala auction that will be held at the Jamestown Gateway Train Station on Saturday. The additions include: a cherry bench made by Bruce Johnson of Bemus Point; signed books by Kevin Leman, Fran Drescher and Natalie Merchant; a relaxation basket including an hour of massage donated by Donna Tranum, massage therapist; a dinner for six at the summer home of Binnie Kurtzner on Chautauqua Lake; a hockey stick signed by Thomas Vanek; and a photo signed by Kevyn Adams. The models in the little black dress fashion show segment of the fundraiser will show jewelry provided by Carlson's Jewelry Smithing. Carlson's and Dena Carlson have also donated a necklace and earring set in sterling with square-cut golden cubic zirconia as part of the silent auction. A fundraising event for the Avon Foundation for Breast Cancer Research, the gala will start at 7 p.m.
JRC To Host
The Jamestown Renaissance Corp. will host the Grow Jamestown Thinking Spring Garden Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Dr. Lillian Vitanza Ney Renaissance Center, corner of Washington and West Third streets. There is free admission and free parking. Exhibits will include local nurseries, landscapers and community organizations. Workshops planned include garden planning, landscaping and community gardening. There will also be prizes, food and shopping. Set For Friday
The Salvation Army, 83 S. Main St., Jamestown, will host a chili cook-off on Friday at 5 p.m. Radio personality, Jim Roselle and his wife, Cathy, will be judging the event. Tickets will be sold at the door for $5. The Chili Cook-off serves as a fundraiser for the Salvation Army's social, spiritual and leadership programs for the teens in the Jamestown area. Legion To Host Easter Party
LAKEWOOD - The Lakewood American Legion Post 1286 Auxiliary will host a children's Easter party from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday. Featured will be an Easter egg hunt, pizza and snacks, games and crafts. ELLINGTON - The Baptist Church of Ellington, 530 Route 62 North, will perform the Easter cantata ''Calvary's Love,'' at 4 p.m. Saturday.
