Gibbons Leads Lakers To Squirt Title

FREDONIA - Behind the goaltending of tournament most valuable player Aiden Gibbons, the Jamestown Lakers hung on for a 3-2 win over the Northern Chautauqua County Youth Hockey Association Steelers in the Squirt Division championship game of the 28th annual NCCYHA Invitational Hockey Tournament.

After falling behind, 1-0, early in the first period, the Lakers struck for three straight goals, from William Turner, Trenton Shutters and Chase Jones, to take a 3-1 lead. Assists went to Zechariah Padd, Turner and Callum Smith.

Ethan Brunner and Alex Rush scored for the Steelers with an assist from Nick Frazier.
