Dr. Arthur O. Lindblom Jr., 88, of Palm Harbor, Fla., formerly of Ashville, N.Y., died Thursday, March 14, 2013, in Florida where he resided since 1972.
He was born June 14, 1924, in Jamestown, N.Y., the son of the late Dr. Arthur O. Lindblom Sr. and H. Elizabeth Anderson Lindblom.
He was a graduate of Jamestown High School and received his Doctorate of Veterinarian Medicine from Cornell University. He ran a large and small animal practice in Ashville for 15 years and served as the director of Pinellas County Florida Veterinary Services for 16 years. He served as an ensign in the Navy in underwater demolition during World War II.

Art enjoyed golf and won the title of club champion at Dunedin Country Club. Other hobbies included stamp collecting, raising tropical fish, H&O train sets and remote control airplanes.
Art is survived by his wife, Ethel Shepardson Lindblom, and their three children: Craig (Andrea) Lindblom of Salamanca, N.Y., Barry (Joanne Muzzy) Lindblom of Palm Harbor, Fla., and Dr. Nancy Lindblom Blackwelder of St. Petersburg, Fla. He is also survived by his sister Karen Richie Jenkins.
Grandchildren include: Heidi (Phillip) Jimerson of Great Valley, N.Y., Greta (Shawn) Gregory of Great Valley, N.Y., Janelle Joseph of Salamanca, N.Y., Erin (John) Petti of Trinity, Fla., Stephen Lindblom of Palm Harbor, Fla., Kate (Brian) Lindblom of Tampa, Fla., Carey Blackwelder of Seminole, Fla., Kristan Blackwelder of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Trevor (Katya) Blackwelder of Clearwater, Fla.
Great-grandchildren include: Sofia and Grace Petti of Trinity, Fla., Alexandra Blackwelder of Clearwater, Fla., Linnea, Leif and Liam Jimerson of Great Valley, N.Y., and Tanner, Alissa and Mitchell Gregory of Great Valley, N.Y.
A private memorial service will be held Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home in Clearwater, Fla., 727-796-1992.
